Haley Harwood is the founder and principal of Haley Designs, a Charleston-based studio specializing in high-end residential interiors. With over a decade of experience spanning both design studios and luxury showrooms, Haley brings a unique perspective that blends creative vision with industry expertise. She believes homes should reflect the individuals who inhabit them — offering a balance between comfort and warmth, with beauty and interest woven throughout.

A graduate of the University of Georgia with a BFA in Interior Design, Haley began her career in Atlanta with acclaimed firms such as Robert Brown Interior Design and Traci Rhoads Interiors. She went on to broaden her expertise through many years with F. Schumacher & Co. and Patterson Flynn, where she supported designers across the Southeast and honed her knowledge of textiles, wallcoverings, and custom furnishings and materials — building the kind of trade relationships that now enrich her client projects.

Returning to interiors full-time, Haley relocated to Charleston where she worked closely with clients at MDI Luxury Design, and guided them through new builds, renovations, and full-service furnishing projects from concept to completion. Her background ensures she not only delivers beautiful spaces but also manages every fine detail with clarity and care.

Haley believes design should feel approachable and collaborative. She is known for her ability to listen deeply, translate clients’ needs into clear plans, and make the process as enjoyable as the finished result. Her signature style blends layered neutrals, organic materials, and timeless textures, drawing inspiration from the natural beauty of the Lowcountry. While her work gravitates toward serene, earthy palettes, she embraces color and personality when it reflects her clients’ tastes.

What sets Haley apart is her passion for the finer details — from custom millwork and thoughtful finishes to beautifully cohesive layers that make a home feel complete. Whether furnishing a Kiawah retreat, reimagining a historic Charleston cottage, or styling a room from scratch, her goal is the same: to create spaces that feel timeless, soulful, and distinctly personal.

Her work is guided by a conviction that a home should never feel fragile — it should invite life to unfold gracefully within it. Helping people love where they live is more than a job — it’s the most fulfilling part of what she does.

When she isn’t designing homes, Haley can often be found outdoors — strolling one of Charleston’s many beautiful parks, like favorites Hampton Park and Colonial Lake, or spending time at the beach. She is also a lifelong lettering artist, creating custom hand-lettered wedding and event stationery and signage, a passion that continues to inspire the details in her interiors.
